The Sleeping One-Eyed God

We have set the king within the ship, cushioned by his spoils of war
His children weep at what is lost, as we shove him from the shore.
We have lit our fiery arrows and take most careful aim
As we trust the king to ashes, whence all our heroes came.
The war of one-eyed gods is over, the land is burning still
The land has lost the light, the suns behind the hill
Odin sinks beneath these waters, safe in mermaids keeping
His blood line safe from those who find him sleeping.
Traitors hang from nooses his sons have set along the way
Singing sweet to cheer the weeping as starlight eats the day
The days of one eyed gods are over, the strong has lost all powers
Now Odin sleeps beneath these waters, watched over by gentle flowers.
