Phoenix

I have a pet phoenix that others cannot see
And when I tell them of my great adventures others look on in disbelief
Muttering incessant gossip about my fairytales
Yet I don’t get discouraged for they miss out on the fun
As I ride through the air with a fire breather lighting up the night
Sometimes we pit stop at the sun where his melodies lull me to sleep
Scarlet and gold are the colors I do behold such fine feathers I wish others could enjoy
Yet when they look for him their eyes are wide open while mine are closed
