June first

(after Ovid’s Fasti)

Concordia asserts June’s name
is joined; Concordia wears Apollonian
laurel entwined; Concordia stands
between Juno & Juventas aligned

to
comity.

Inside,
gods’ faces.
Sing sacred
themes &
see,

thick w/ trees,
the grove —
where water
rushes &
pools.

Cranaë
w/ thorn —
w/ whitethorn spray —
saves Proca’s boy
today; so celebrate today
at the food truck:
dog w/ baked beans,
sausage & slaw on a
spelt bun.
Cranaë,
ancient hinge,
eats what’s familiar
from when
she was a maid.
