Fire of the Lightning God

Douse the candles in his temple
The lightning God is gone
Alone, he faced the many demons
On a final field his valor shone.

Pensive Odin sold his eye for whispers
Secrets of what his son had planned
But Thor with thunder colored eyes
Met their cannons, fully manned.

Take him to the thunder island
Throw his hammer in the lake
Thor sleeps with the best of Gods
His kin still singing at the wake.

Douse the candles in his temple
The time of hero Gods are done
All that’s left are one-eyed men
Afraid to venture out into the sun.
