The Gods of Traffic

They can be mean
On the day you have a most crucial, epoch making appointment
They decide to strike … with glee
You can almost hear them cackle in evil amusement
There is bedlam everywhere, noisy horning as all drivers seek to flee the impregnable, traffic
As you curse and swear and sweat profusely in traffic
Especially the traffic occasioned by what is not seen
You can only see the mass of unmoving vehicles stretching for miles in this … demonic stand still
And the juicy contract deal slipping through your sweaty fingers
When the gods of traffic are at work
