Big Bad Heartburn

Little Red Riding Hood by Jessie Wilcox Smith (1911)

Look, it ain’t my fault
I just don’t have luck with pigs and girls
Circe laughs at me when we have tea
twirling tauntingly in a scarlet cloak
the pig waiter serving cucumber salads
as I howl about my heart troubles
Heartburn from three little pigs and Grandma Girls
who seduce woodcutters and wolves
to huff and puff before blowing houses and heads off
left with a belly of stone-cold rejection
