The river, flat as glass
but storms break glass
into bloodstained shards
dripping in the reflected sunset
Mangled driftwood with
splintered hands and
saber-toothed smiles
float in the wake of the curious
who listen to my music
a cascading crescendo
through rocks and riffles
carried on a torrential current
with the song of a loon
and a voice like a siren
I can lure you to
the murmuration of the depths
Take my hand
from the white capped waters
luminescent transcendence
naked within the rhythmic tides
Dance to my melodies
caress my desires
as I tempt you deeper
with mercurial beauty
Feel our hearts beat
to the drumming of tears
that escape on the edge
of foam lapping waves
The boat, drifts empty
on mirrored deceptions
as the mist returns
to the mud fringed shore
